Worthy of note this morning - and perhaps more apt or not depending on what happens today, Sorrell Booke, the man who played Boss Hogg on the Dukes of Hazzard, was born and at least a little raised, right here in Buffalo.
Check out that little factoid.
Buffalo's Common Council will be meeting today about Daniel Granville, the Erie County Sheriff's detective that - let's face it...
Well, never mind.
It likely did happen. There likely was a coverup. There likely is a lot of internal scramble for damage control.
But today, I suppose, we'll get as close to punching through a lot of half-truths and action/cognitive-omissions of convenience that allowed this to - likely - happen, that we can.
I don't have time to get into some grand BuffScan commentary into this matter but I will drop this video of how something like this might actually have been handled that fateful night when it seems everyone had the sense of hubris and control enough to believe that they could wrap the elephant forever.
In this example it's not a decorated detective like Granville but rather the Sheriff himself. It's close enough to cringe when compared though.
